These systems can be seen serving electricity control systems, sewerage control systems and such have been trust which has been entrusted with these systems that now SCADA in the water industry has become inseparable part.

With the deployment of SCADA in the water system the maintenance costs have reduced to great extent along with the time taken to diagnose the fault. The underlying principle of SCADA in the water industry is same as of SCADA systems in general.

There are present remote sensors which collect the data and via a transmission media send the collected data to a central system which carries out the task of management, processing and display of the collected data in human readable format. The data gets displayed at Man Machine Interface, also called MMI. The brain of every SCADA system lies in PLCs which is acronym for Programmable Logic.

SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems have altogether made the task of automation efficient and reliable.

Though the development of SCADA systems began way back in 1960s but with the recent trends in technology have evolved these systems too and now from small scale applications to big time applications and now SCADA systems are involved in almost all controls systems irrespective of the fields.

Thus, SCADA has found its existence in water control systems, whether control systems, electricity control systems and now into wireless systems. Now various SCADA VHF industrial products are getting into existence which have evolved wireless industry too and ushered a new era of wireless technologies.

For both types of electricity management/ control systems (both traditional and nuclear), SCADA systems are employed these days. The role of SCADA in the electricity industry is same as SCADA systems play in other control systems.

These act as supervisory systems and they control the way the automated process is controlled. SCADA systems issues predefined response which is set through PLCs (Programmable Logic Circuits) when any parameter value/ state changes beyond permissible levels.

As human supervision is not feasible in this case, thus SCADA systems always prove to be reliable solution.  The benefits of employing SCADA don't come to halt here. These systems store the collected data which prove beneficial for trouble shooting purposes. Without this available data, troubleshooting or locating fault in the circuits would have become a tedious task. The collected data gets stored in database which can be easily accessed for routine checks.
